Imelda Marcos's Jewelries

Photo from here.
Aside from a vast collection of shoes, Imelda Marcos is also known for her collection of jewelries.  Although most of it have been confiscated by the Philippine government, what remains in her possession are still to die for. Imelda Marcos is the wife of the late former president Ferdinand E. Marcos--the 10th president of the Philippines (1965-1986).

Let me show you some of her jewelries that even Christie's had a hard time deciding the auction price.

Ruby necklace with diamonds from Van Cleef & Arpels and a ruby brooch (center).

Brooch with 85 carats of yellow diamonds.

Diamond bracelets.  The lower two were made by Gionmoria Buccellati.

A Persian style necklace of more than 100 carats of canary and pink diamonds of various shapes and sizes.

Diamond and emerald earrings from Van Cleef & Arpels with 6ct total weight.

Swooned?  Wait until you see the entire collection amounting billions.  The former First Lady sure knows how to sparkle.

Chartreuse diamond eternity choker

Wow!  Just wow!

This Chartreuse eternity choker is made of 18k hammered gold with diamonds.  The price of this is relatively lower compared to what Hollywood stars are wearing on the red carpet.  And although most of them are just borrowed pieces, they never cease to amaze us with their sparkles.

You can have this at Barneys for $48,500.

Sara Weinstock snake earrings

I think these Sara Weinstock snake earrings are unique.  It seems as if the snakes are inside the egg waiting to be hatched.  The 'shell' is surrounded by oval diamond pave on white gold while the snakes's heads are also filled with diamonds mounted on gold.  It drops 3 inches.

You can have these at Barneys for $17,520.

Oscar de la Renta multi-stone necklace and cuff

How's your Christmas?

I decided to post this Oscar de la Renta multi-stone necklace because its color reminds me of Christmas.  Green, red and gold will forever be Christmas's official colors.  Aside from the colors, it also has mosaic stations that added more flare to the necklace.  This necklace is $595 at Neiman Marcus. It also has a cuff to match.

I am also thinking Persian princess.  What do you think?

Delettrez skeleton hand bracelet looks creepy

If the bones on your hands are not enough, you can have Delettrez's skeleton hand bracelet.  It looks creepy but this creepy thing is worth $25,562.30.  It is made of white gold and silver, diamonds of 4.42 total carat weight and 11 carat cabocon ruby.

This is how it looks when worn.

The ruby is strategically placed to make it look like a ring.

AQA Contemporary Opals opal ring

I love it when I have unique jewelry finds to share with you.  For this day, here is AQA Contemporary Opals opal ring on gold.  This is the opal side.

Here is the gold side of the ring.

You can have this ring for $8,365.70 at Luisa Via Roma.  Other opal ring designs are available.

Gareth Pugh silver plated clove hand ring

You read it right.  It is a ring.

I stared at it for about a minute trying to figure out how this Gareth Pugh silver plated clove ring became the ring we all know.  It looks like Captain Hook's hook, the undertaker's staff or a surgical device.  Before my imagination gets me anywhere, it was nice of Luisa Via Roma to show how to wear this very unique accessory.

Tiffany & Co. round cut diamond ring

This Tiffany and Co. round cut diamond ring is so brilliant I had to minimize the photo.  Aside from being the most brilliant item in Sparkling Mode, it is also the most expensive.  This ring has 7.12 carat brilliant cut diamond at the center with 0.44 carat total weight of small diamonds surrounding it and the entire white gold band.  This costs $1.9 million.

If ever I was offered marriage with this as the engagement ring... I was only dreaming.

Hollywood stars aren't swooned by this ring, they have more expensive engagement ring on their fingers.  Beyonce's engagement ring costs $5 million... Jay-Z is so generous.

H. Stern DVF Rock crystal quartz bracelet

Another H.Stern masterpiece.  It is not surprising that Hollywood stars wear H. Stern jewelries during red carpet events.  You will shine with their jewelries.  This DVF Rock crystal quartz bracelet is nothing but.  It is made of 18-k gold with faceted quartz of 41.17 grams total weight.

Got the money?  This bauble costs $10,000 at Bergdorf Goodman.

Olivia Collings antique Venetian necklace

Isn't it lovely?  This is something Hollywood stars wear during red carpet events.  I am not sure if it will fit red carpet events of non-stars like us but it is worth a try.  This necklace will literally make the room light up because of the numerous sparkles mounted on it.

Up close, this Olivia Collings antique Venetian necklace is intricately designed.  You don't have to wear highly embellished dress if you will wear this.

This necklace is available at Barneys for $6,200.

Solange Azagury-Partridge 'Real Fake' emerald earrings

I like the name of these Solange Azagury-Partridge emerald drop earrings as much as I like how it looks.  How can something be so real and be so fake?

These are made of 18-k gold with emerald drops and green plique-a-jour.  I had to look for the meaning of plique-a-jour because I am not French.  It simply means stained glass effect.  Whatever.  I really like love these earrings.  Too bad it will cause me to file for bankruptcy, so I will just be contented at looking at its magnificence.

This is $7,800 at Net-A-Porter.

Anita Ko bullet necklace is sure to kill werewolves

Not really.

Anita Ko's bullet necklace is made of 18-k white gold with bullet pendant with pink sapphire encrusted tip.  It will not kill any werewolf (if they do exist) but it will surely make anyone green with envy like Frankenstein.  You can have this at Net-A-Porter for $2,805.  Ko's necklace is also available in 18-k gold with pave diamonds of 0.35 carats.

This gold version is $2,750.

Tom Binns Swarovski twisted bracelet

Opposites attract and once they met, they create the most gorgeous couple.  It is so true with this Tom Binns Swarovski twisted bracelet.  The intertwine of white and black crystals remind me of the double helix DNA that makes each one of us unique.  This bracelet is unique, indeed!

You can have this at Net-A-Porter for a discounted price of $287.50 previously $575.

Phillip Stein diamond bezel limited edition Oprah watch

Still can't get over with the happy headache from watching Oprah's 2010 Favorite Things episode?  Of the 24 things that she gave away, this Phillip Stein diamond bezel watch is my most favorite and it is also the most expensive (aside from the Caribbean cruise).  This watch has 1.16 carat pave diamonds, made of stainless steel and leather straps that you can interchange.  It also has two "Os" on the face to remind us of Oprah's magnificence.

This limited edition watch is available at Neiman Marcus for $2,245.

Monserat De Lucca brass lighter ring

Do you smoke?  I think this Monserat De Lucca lighter ring would be perfect on you.  If you don't smoke but has penchant for unique accessories, you can add this to your collection.  This is available at Endless for $55.

Tarina Tarantino 'Gentle Kosmonaut' earrings

There are two things that I like about these earrings: the name of the designer who has the same name as the director of one of my favorite movies Kill Bill and the way the designer named these earrings.  So there you have it, Tarina Tarantino's 'Gentle Kosmonaut' earrings.

These earrings are made of crystals on silver plated metal.  It measures 3.5 inches in length--perfect to elongate the face.  You can have these at Endless for $70.

Malene Birger 'Letican' sculpted metal necklace

On thumbnail view I thought this necklace has a dog pendant.  Up close, it is a sculpted gold plated metal with  cream acrylic pendant.  It is different and definitely will leave a statement.  This Malene Birger 'Letican' necklace is available at The Out Net  for $52.50 previously $175.

Iradj Moini twisted sapphire and crystal necklace

How gorgeous!  This necklace by Iradj Moini is something that you can only see during red carpet or any formal events.  This necklace is made of sapphires and crystals.  This can be yours for $990 at Marissa Collections.  For that price, you are actually buying two necklaces because the pink an green crystal chain can be detached to wear as a different necklace.

Aurelie Bidermann lace cuff

Don't you find this Aurelie Bidermann lace cuff delicate?  I wonder how the craftsman make this 18-k gold plated cuff look like this.  It is so intricate.  Can you imagine yourself wearing this with a flowing white Grecian  dress?  If you do, better check this out at Net-A-Porter.  You can have this for $1,890.
