This gigantic emerald of 57,000 carats--the world's largest--will be auctioned on January 28 by Western Star Auctions in British Columbia, Canada. It weighs 11.5 kilograms and around 12 inches long. It is currently valued to $1.15 million (pretty expensive for a rough cut emerald).
The football-sized 'Teodora' (God's gift in translation) emerald was discovered in Brazil.
